It happens often that you are somewhere but you leave for an adventure inside your minds. You got ‘zoned out’. It is not a great to be zoned out but sometimes it can be a calling.
To see the world, things dangerous to come to, to see behind the walls, draw closer, to find each other and to feel. That is the purpose of life.
~ Sean O’ Connell
It all started when a guy cannot send a wink to a girl at a dating site. The main character Walter Mitty is a boring & unadventurous person living a dull life of negative assets manager at LIFE magazine and likes a confident girl in his office, of course. The best part is he zones out; sometimes he is on mountain tops or saves puppies from exploding buildings. He carves an adventurous and romantic life.
Now their office is going their last edition of Life magazine and a reputed photographer Sean O’ Connell sends a cover photo but it is somehow missing. And there begins the adventure. So in total entire movie’s message is ‘Just do it’. That’s all? I think the movie is great on its own but lacks to print an impression of the great movie on audience’s head.
So, the movie itself is 50/50, but I like this movie because it forces me to think. Imagine a person like Walter, always searching for a venture and never afraid to criticism, who always represents himself to people. After few years his father died and weight of responsibilities compressed his life into a nine to five job. He no longer realises his dreams and has lost his fire which burns only as a daydream that he always ignores.
When that man finally recognises his calling, the souls of universe try to help and he no longer zones out because he finally has reached to his goal/zone. So what comes next I don’t know… whatever comes after that it’ll be part of life and that would be beautiful.
Sober movie but however but the cover of the last magazine signified more than expected. Despite being nobody in the office, Sean (photographer) chose him to face in cover because Sean may be the artist behind amazing pictures but it was Walter Mitty was the one who perfects his art. Thus everyone and everything matters.
Times come in life when you have to make decisions, dynamic when you start the journey of dreams and pursue your destiny. But you have to be quick mentally to endure this process. When you do so you don’t feel happy but path of your journey becomes happy. You start attracting greatness to your life. Just ask Walter, Sean himself told Mitty.
Beautiful things don’t ask for attention.
